Subject: Pascual wins final exhibition in lackluster
fashion; League play scheduled for Saturday
With a mind-boggling 0% first server percentage through
three service games, Post Forest resident
David Pascual finished off Brett Schmitz 6-3 Tuesday
evening. A performance like that is bested
watched after 10:20pm remarked a baffled Schmitz.
Schmitz, who has been hampered by a recent hip injury,
looked strong early sweeping through the first
two match games. Positive results from recent service
adjustments were evident throughout the night.
Solid shots blistered off box corners with his few faults
missing just outside. "It's remarkable,"
commented a battered Pascual, "he's turning his
game up just at the right time."
Senior FALTS member Michael Orsini lost his two matches
in habitual form. For the fourth time this
exhibition season, Orsini was disqualified due to tardiness.
Reached via phone following play, Orsini's
comments are ethically unprintable.
FALTS tournament play begins this weekend at 11am sharp.
(Orsini, please re-read eight times. It's
11am, 11am, 11am. Not 11:05, or 11:10, or noon. 11am)
The event is currently sold out, though
special seating is still available. Email tickets@falts.net
for further information.
Notes:
Pascual raised his longball average to 1.76 after hitting
3 out of the stadium.
